People love their pets to bits but then they also think of oh-so-cute names for them. Sometimes, these names are genuinely cute and sometimes these weird pet names just make you feel bad for the pet. Poor Bawldy!

The following names are very much real funny names for pets which have been chosen from the database of a pet insurance company. Makes you wonder why people want to use strange pet names when their pet is definitely a family member. No one would want their parents to name them Snuggle Butt Lee now, would they?

Katy Purry

This is one of the weird cat names that borders on being clever. We get it, it’s a play on a famous singer’s name but then we really wonder whether the singer will be just as pleased. But all’s well if you have a purry cat with a famous name.

Bacon Bite

Definitely a contender for weird dog names as it’s hard to decide if Bacon loves bacon or if Bacon loves to bite. Well, here’s hoping that Bacon loves to bite bacon. If you want to choose a ferocious sounding or threatening name for your name there are plenty that don’t involve the word ‘bite’.

General Ginger Beefy

A close contender was Count Flufferton, but General Ginger Beefy is not exactly a flattering name for your precious pet. A name like this brings to mind a fat cat that’s ginger and sports an army hat. Can be funny for some but definitely not something to be proud of especially if your cat is getting too fat to catch mice.

Lambchops

Fast fact: Never feed your dog chop as they can break their teeth on them. That said, naming your dog Lambchops if you like eating them is just fine. After all, naming your dog after food is totally acceptable.

Little Funky Monkey

What could be more unfortunate when one animal is named after another animal? In this case, why would you name a cat a monkey? No doubt it’s a cute name but it would have been preferable to call your cat ‘Little Funky Kitty’ instead.
